Victory!

From my book, Victory!

Palm fronds strewn upon the road
Covered the dust where the donkey strode
Who carried the King of Peace to war
And well He knew what lay in store

The kiss, the scourge, and the crown
Thrice His falling to the ground
Then His Cross lifted high
Between the earth and the sky

All this He knew, yet He obeyed
And at last Adam’s dragon slayed
The dark of the tomb He would see
But after three days, victory!
